Periods of Research

Most historical researchers are capable of covering a wide period, in my case from about 1450 to 1900, although in some cases I will look at records outside this period.

My preferred period is Tudor and Stuart - partly because the handwriting is easiest to read at this time

As far as Chancery Proceedings are concerned, the most useful period tends to be 1550 to 1750, although there are very informative records both earlier and later, but they tend to more difficult to identify due to inadequate indexing, but can be just as full of information.
